JC and I headed started fishing about 2 PM. We started one bridge down from the new bridge construction. We went down stream first and started trying hoppers. Nothing happening. Switched to beadheads and small nymphs. I got a 10" brown out of my second hole and missed another. Had cattle in the stream for the next stretch. I fished two pools down from the bridge and had a heavy hit, but missed it. JC was one pool up and got a couple small ones. Tried under the bridge and the next hole up. Switched to a bi-bugger soft-hackle and got a 15" brown. Took a little TLC to get him back in shape. On the next corner up JC had action from some more sub-10"ers. Fished until 5:30 with no more action. Had a sandwich and pop and move to the spring / picnic table parking area. I headed straight to the Nemesis stretch with a cricket. JC started just above the first crossing above the barn. I got no action in Nemesis, but got a miss and then connected with a 17" brown at my honey hole. Just as I lifted it to bring it to net the fly popped out. All my fault. I let it run around while I was getting on the reel and I should have been working it. Thought it was the 15"er I caught last week. JC had good action with several fish in the first hole above the crossing. One went 17" also. Day was hot in the end and action slow for quite a bit of the time, but over all a nice day. Even the farm bull was contented.
