Brian's Family

My mother's family is Canadian. Her relatives live on Texada Island in BC. Her parents came from Laytonstone,England ( a suburb of London). I have heard that they might have come from Wales. They immigrated to Canada when they were two years old. It is said that they lived only two blocks apart in London but that the families had never met. The unfortunate part is that they lost the family history part of the family Bible.

My father's mother's family is from Germany. The Engelbart Engelbarts  family had twelve kids and each of these had twelve kids, so the family grew very fast. They came from Neustadt, Goeden, Ostfriesland. This indicates it was a new town in East Friesia by the name of Goeden. This would be just below the west side of Denmark. They had a store by the Engelbarts name in Goeden. I have not started tracking this group.

My father's grandfather  (Halvor) and grandmother (Berta) were from Norway. Halvor Larson Helgaland was from Sandeid. Halvor Larson [probably should be Larssen], was the son of Lars Pedersen and Britha Johnsdatter. They lived on the Hagen sub-farm of the Helgaland farm, just north of Sandeid. My ggf Halvor was born in 1860. He was not the first. His siblings were:
      Marta 1848 moved to Kvinherad
      Peder 1850
      Mari 1852
      Lars 1854
      Ingeborg 1856
      Brithe 1858
      Johannes 1863

I am looking for his siblings relatives.

Berta (Lena) Sandvik was from Kvinherad. I have very good information going back from there and some coming forward, but I need more on her siblings who came to the states.

Berta and Halvor got together because she knew his grandparents who were on the Guddal farm in Kvinherad.
