Restoration work is fun and fulfiling. I find myself discovering new natural areas, and meeting nice people who understand the importance of the environment to our well being. If you're interested, you can find out more from the various organizations listed below.

The UW Arboretum was instrumental in first developing the idea of restoration. Groups are active throughout the year.

In addition to the Arboretum itself, the Campus Natural Areas program manages hundreds of acres of land along Lake Mendota.

The Friends of Pheasant Branch are devoted to a beautiful county park in Middleton.

The Nature Conservancy is the most sophisticated group involved in preserving ecologically important land. You can volunteer here in Wisconsin.

Get involved with one of the many issues of the Wisconsin Stewardship Network.

Help out the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources.

The Ice Age Trail foundation is working toward a State wide trail that explores all aspect of the last Ice Age, known as the Wisconsin Ice Age. You can help clear trails and other good stuff.
