Darius Blackwing
Looting the tomb while we were still engaged in fighting
the monsters and then concealing what you found is not appreciated. It is our
intention to seek recompense from you.
Return all that you have stolen plus a 50% penalty (total
sum of 12ss) or suffer the consequences.
We regret that we have been forced into this course of
action, but we cannot tolerate blatant Thievery.

Dragonkin Hires Adventurers
A Dragonkin, K'sss'tha, entered Port Mahon to hire several of the citizen
adventurers to clear out a goblin infestation near his nesting ground. The
goblins had apparently been outcast from several different bands in the area,
and managed to survive traveling through orc and great orc territory, finally
reaching dragonkin lands.
K'sss'tha's hiring requirement were that no one be skilled enough with
weapons such that they could harm a Dragonkin. Apparently, the adventurers that
took the job were satisfactory, as they succeeded in killing all the goblins,
about four dozen in number.

Kern Pod Trafficker Executed
Darius Blackwing was executed last Mad Moon for the crimes of purchasing a
Kern Pod and attacking an Imperial Investigator. The execution was carried out
by the order of Commander Castor.
Earlier in the day, an Imperial Inspector investigating the smuggling
problem in Port Mahon entered Azeel & Achmed's House of Wonders and
attempted to sell a Kern Pod. He was chased out of the shop by Azeel, who
proclaimed that he did not do those illegal things.
After witnessing this, Darius Blackwing followed the Inspector, and
purchased the Kern Pod for one silver shilling. He then attacked the Inspector
and knocked him out, but did not kill him.
Later in the day, the Inspector returned with Imperial guards, and had
Blackwing arrested and brought before the Garrison Commander for trial. At the
time of Blackwing's arrest, several hours after the purchase of the kern pod, it
was still in his possession. In his defense, Blackwing claimed that he was
going to sell the pod to the Commander, he just did not have time earlier in the
day to do so. However, he had been seen in town at least twice prior to his
arrest. "How gullible does he think I am?" Commander Castor asked.
A companion of Blackwing's, Lord Havok, arranged for him to be raised at the
Sunrise Inn, after the execution, so no permanent loss occurred as a result of
the execution.

Divination Wanted
Commander Castor has offered 5 silver shillings to any citizen of Port Mahon
who is willing to cast a Light Philosophy Divination. He wishes to know the
identity of the Kern Pod smuggler, and is resorting to the use of magic as all
other attempts to discover the information, including the ten shilling reward,
have failed.
Margin Notes: an Editorial
Living with the Neighbors, Part II
The dragonkin, who had contented themselves with staying within their own
territory, with the exception of occasional sightings elsewhere, are now
becoming bolder. One has even gone so far as to come into town and hire citizen
adventurers. If the dragonkin had wished to, he could have exterminated the
goblins himself. Or he could have exterminated the humans once they were out in
dragonkin lands. Instead, he treated honorably with the people he had hired.
Why did he hire humans, instead of doing the job himself or having other
dragonkin do it? Was he trying to learn more about humans and the town? Will
he return with more jobs for other citizen adventurers? We currently do not
know enough about the dragonkin to know if they are a threat or a boon to the
well being of Port Mahon. Until we can determine that, we need to be cautious
and learn more about the dragonkin with every opportunity.
Large Ogre Lair Near Port Mahon
During the Mad Moon of June, the Black Company and the Cuisinart Corps
joined forces to eliminate the village of the Great Orcs that had captured
Fekkesh and Olaf of the CC during the previous Mad Moon. Upon their arrival at
the location of the village, they discovered that a large party of ogres had
already destroyed the village and looted anything of value.
The ogres were tracked back to their lair, where there were about twelve
ogres. According to everything known about ogres, they should not be found
together in such large numbers. It is unknown what could possibly be keeping
them together.
During the July Mad Moon, the Black Company and some additional citizen
adventurers, notably Victor and Bruno, discovered and killed a small family band
of ogres near the main lair, so some ogre presence remains in the area.

Out of Game
Summer game dates: September 20th, and October 18th Winter game dates:
November 15th, January 17th, 1998, February 21st, March 21st. (All dates
are tentative) Game dates for next summer: April 18th, May 9th, June
20th, July 18th, August 15th, September 19th, and October 17th. (All dates
are tentative) The Game Committee is currently exploring the
possibility of a overnight game for sometime next summer. Summer games are
held at Camp Wowitan, winter games are held at St. Pious Catholic High School.
Check-in opens at 10:30am. The game starts at noon, and ends at 6:00pm.
DIRECTIONS TO YMCA CAMP WOWITAN: Take US 45 north from
Milwaukee (or come down south from the north, whatever). Exit East Pleasant
Valley Road (about 10 miles north of Milwaukee, 3 miles south of West Bend) and
go east. At the stop sign (County Hwy P) turn left. Go one mile and turn right
on County Highway NN (also known as Hwy 143). Go about 4 miles to Church road,
then turn left on Church Road (going north) and stay on Church road until it
dead ends. The building at the end of the road is Grede Lodge, where check-in
is located.
New Check in/Check out Procedure
There is a new sign in sheet with the names of all active members of the
chapter already on it. Simply record your arrival time after your name. If
EXPIRED or NEEDED is written after your name, it is time to renew your national
membership. If you aren't a national member and your two game grace period
has expired, you cannot play.
After paying and signing in, simply remove your character sheet from the
Player Records notebook. All sheets are now in alphabetical order -- no need to
remember your player number. At the end of the game, at check out, you simply
return the character sheet with any the appropriate check boxes marked and any
corrections made. If you do not wish to take your sheet on course with you, it
should be left at the front of the notebook.
If there are any errors on your character sheet or you have any questions or
suggestions, talk to Steve Hanchar either before or after the game, or call at
(414) 466-3159, or e-mail at hanchar@mfa.com.
Several players have put a great deal of effort into bringing props to
decorate their area of the lodge, notably Dana Derryberry, Dana Erlandsen, Jim
Minz, Scott Borlick, and Cathy Biagioli. (If I've missed anyone, I'm sorry).
Their work adds a great deal to the flavor of the game, and they are to be
commended. Members of the game committee, would it be possible for a bonus
experience point award be made to those people who costume not only themselves,
but their surroundings?
