Well, Big Al has been staying with us since July. He is quickly becoming one of the best loan officers at FWMI. We've shown him quite a bit of life here in Wisconsin, including Door County, Timber Coulee, and the Union (he keeps saying something about a naked slip and slide). Now that its winter, we expected him to freeze his a&% off. However, it has been very mild. Lucky for him. John, Bonnie, and Hanna spent Thanksgiving with us. Hanna and Belle quickly bonded. The dog discovered a human that was not much taller than her who had a propensity to carry and drop various foods where she could quickly inhale them. Not a bad deal in mutt terms. Big Al was jealous as Hanna wanted to spend more time with Uncle Todd than with him. John got an intro flight at the local airport while the girls went shopping. Deb told Mike (the instructor) to do a few stalls. However, he gave John the full show and did some spins! It was great to have them and Al here for Thanksgiving. We finally got to spend a holiday with family! Just before we left for Florida, Bob and Carolyn came for a quick visit. This time we didn't do anything as mundane as pheasant hunting (although Deb once again prepared her signature dish for us). No, instead we took them for a little spin in a Cessna (not literally!). Carolyn braved it out in the front seat, while Deb and Bob rode in coach. No airsick bags were needed and the plane can be used again, so all in all it was a successful flight. They left the next day for Brookfield, then on to Morton to visit the grandparents. We had a great time, as usual. Something tells me we may have some more visitors in April.... |
