The May 7, 2004 revision of TF32 introduces an improved epoch marking algorithm used in F0 analysis and formant tracking. The improvement is the ability of the algorithm to more reliably locate the initial pitch pulse at voice onset. There are also fewer pitch-period dropouts when tracking high F0 voice.

Some users of TF32 of the May 7, 2004 revision may require the older epoch marking algorithm to maintain strict compatibility with analysis results performed with earlier versions of TF32. Download the module TF32Old.dll to a directory on your fixed disk and invoke the command

regsvr32 TF32Old.dll

from that directory (invoke

c:\windows\system\regsvr32 TF32Old.dll

on Windows 95 or 98). This command installs a Windows COM object that TF32 uses to revert to the older algorithm. If you later want to change to the newer algorithm, invoke

regsvr32 /u TF32Old.dll

(invoke

c:\windows\system\regsvr32 /u TF32Old.dll

on Windows 95 or 98). This action removes the COM object so that the May 7, 2004 revision of TF32 uses the improved epoch marker that is built in to TF32.
