  • Senior Services-Senior Services provides support and assistance to seniors in order to foster independence and promote physical and mental well being.  Support programs include information and referral of neighborhood and community resources, friendly visits, volunteer neighborhood helpers, transportation, and weekly exercise classes which are held Mondays from 10:35 to 11:10 am at Brittingham for both Seniors and the Disabled.  A sewing class is also offered for seniors.  Volunteers are an integral part of the program.  The project brings together neighbors of different ethnic and racial backgrounds to enhance their understanding of each other.
  • Facility Use-This program provides neighborhood residents and agencies with space for social, educational, and recreational activities.  Staff works with the residents and other agencies to provide services related to the needs of the residents in the neighborhood.
  • Information and Referral-This program provides information and makes referrals for neighborhood residents to neighborhood and community resources.  Residents seek information and referrals through walk-in and telephone contacts.

  • Newsletter-Neighborhood House News, an annual newspaper, provides residents and businesses in the neighborhood with information regarding Neighborhood House programs.  Also included are issues and events in the neighborhood, political forums/candidates, and neighborhood/community resources.
  • Food Pantry-Neighborhood House provides a food pantry to anyone in need of food.  Hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m.
  • Community Assistance-Neighborhood House provides supervision and structured work tasks and activities for adult and youth offenders from Volunteers in Probation and Youth Restitution.  The program allows the participants to accept responsibility, develop a support network and build self-esteem.  In addition, Neighborhood House provides unemployed adults from the Employment and Training Program an opportunity to participate in the daily activities of the center.  Benefits to the participant include learning new skills, acquiring new references for employment, and building confidence and self-esteem.  This program involves staff and clients on a one to one basis.
  • Summer Youth Camp-Neighborhood House offers two four week camp sessions for youth ages 7-13.  In both our programs we offer a variety of activities including craft projects, nutrition classes, cultural enhancement projects, sports and recreational games, and community outings.  The program utilizes community resources and strives to enrich the experiences of our youth by offering educational and recreational trips in the community, and beyond that enhance the youths socio-cultural development.  All aspects of the program provide avenues for positive activities.
