lifestyle
-
Expanding range of motion
-
Increasing flexibility and strength
-
Increasing sense of equilibrium and balance
-
Helping to reduce stress
Program Overview
Variable length programs are available from 1 hour workshops
to continuing, weekly classes. Two major areas of instruction can be included:
-
solo practice using movements modified from striking, punching,
blocking, and kicking
-
paired practice using joint manipulation techniques to gently
stretch joints
Slow, smooth, relaxed movements are encouraged in these classes.
Classes are taught at a level appropriate for the capabilities of the audience
and can be done from standing, standing with support, sitting, or lying
down. A relaxed and non-competitive atmosphere is maintained in these
classes.
An advantage of this system over other ROM programs is
that part of the program involves practice with a partner which encourages
social interactions. In addition, other exercises can be practiced solo
allowing for practice outside of class time by individuals.
Prices for these workshops
are available. For more information please contact
